STUDIO

Native By Design

Crafting Intentional & Enduring Outdoor Spaces Designed For Everyday Life.

Dryland Studio is a landscape design practice rooted in the climate, culture, and character of West Texas. Based in Lubbock, the studio focuses on creating thoughtful, enduring outdoor spaces that reflect the beauty of the High Plains while responding intelligently to its challenges.

Our work is grounded in native and well-adapted plantings, water-wise strategies, and a design approach that balances function with artistry. Every project is crafted to feel intentional, timeless, and deeply connected to place — landscapes that thrive in a xeric environment without sacrificing visual impact or livability.

Dryland Studio exists to prove that sustainability and beauty are not competing goals. In West Texas, they belong together.

About Dryland Studio

Dryland Studio was founded by Garrett Farrow, a landscape designer with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture and several years of professional experience working within an established LA firm before launching his independent practice.

Garrett has called Lubbock home since 2013. After marrying local and putting down roots in the community, he developed a deep appreciation for the people, culture, and open landscapes that define West Texas. Now raising his family here, his work is both professional and personal — a commitment to shaping outdoor spaces that will serve this region for generations.

His background blends design development, ecological understanding, and a passion for native and adapted planting design. But beyond credentials, Garrett’s work is driven by a genuine love of nature and a desire to create landscapes that are:

  • Beautiful without excess

  • Long-lasting and resilient

  • Environmentally conscious and water-wise

  • Authentically suited to the West Texas climate

Through Dryland Studio, Garrett partners with homeowners and small businesses to craft native, xeric landscapes that respect the land, conserve resources, and elevate everyday living outdoors.
